NEW YORK CENTRAL - 20th CENTURY LIMITED
Introduced June, 1938, the premier New York-Chicago passenger train. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss, with the J3A Hudson manufactured by ALCO, and the cars by Pullman-Standard. Typically, the 961 mile run took 16 hours at the average speed of 59.89 mph. The Hudsons were replaced by EMC (EMD) E07's in 1945.
