Builder O.F. Jordan Company SPMW 4034 is an hydraulic operated straight wing spreader built by the
O.F. Jordan Company in September 1962. Its cab contains a locomotive control stand to operate the
locomotive(s) pushing it. The purpose of the spreader is
to keep as much snow plowed away from the mainline(s) as possible. Two SD9E's are generally used for power.
They are operated as single units and also in pairs running back to back, SPMW 4034 is generally assigned to the Truckee District.
